imrazor
I've got a bit of a dilemma on my hands. When rebuilding my gaming PC, I installed Windows XP 64 in ATA mode (vs AHCI mode) not realizing that Snow Leopard didn't support it. After I installed SL and got a waiting for root device message, I quickly figured it out. I can work around the problem by toggling the AHCI status in my BIOS when I want to switch back and forth between OS's, but that's a bit inconvenient. Reinstalling Windows isn't a great choice, especially since I don't have a floppy for the F6 option. Is there any way to a. boot Snow Leopard in ATA mode or b. flip a live install of XP 64-bit over to AHCI?
Zulu.Walker
You can't run XP in AHCI mode if you hadn't installed it first with the feature on. You're left with a. figuring out why your SL won't run with your drive in ATA mode or b. reinstall XP (or move on to Win7 64-bit). I'd go with b.
