Will I be able to update safely?

So I am about to install snow leo using the Lifehacker method and then dual boot with windows 7 using EasyBCD. I wanted to check that I will be able to update to 10.6.3 without a problem. I built my rig from the ground up so here is the list of parts incase it makes a difference:

 

Motherboard: Gigabyte UD3L

GFX Card: EVGA 9800

Processor: Core 2 Quad Intel

RAM: 8GB

DVD/CD: SATA Pioneer Drive

 

Also, is it worth waiting for 10.6.4 instead so that I can just update to that?
