Beerkex'd
Hmm that's a good question. What do you think? As Verdant told you already, it is really not good forum practice to post "random" posts just to hit 5 posts and then to start new topics for single questions! - do your hardware research first using Google....... BTW Please delete your spam from this thread...........thanks! http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1481815

What am I supposed to do? I've already posted my issue in a reply to a similar problem but am not getting any responses.
Justin_Case
Figured I might try here... Disk read error! HELP! The install went well, but when I went to restart my computer to dual boot between Kalyway 10.5.2 and XP (Disk says SP2 Pro, But have all updates so not sure if it's updated to SP3) Disk read error occured Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart EeeK! Been reading around and haven't found any solutions. I was stupid and hadn't backed up my data, so I have tons of family photos on there I can't lose. I've tried all the solutions posted around but am going crazy. I tried moving the jumpers between CS and Master, that did nothing. I tried Booting from the windows disk and doing a Chkdsk, everything appears to be great. And I just tried deleting the partition and then doing a Fixmbr after trying to avoid it for days. Nothing seems to be working. I used Gparted to set the XP partition to boot, but it didn't work and then I tried setting it to the mac partition and that did nothing as well (before I deleted the partition). Pulling my hair out Q.Q would love any help. Formatting is not an option.

Yeah It's on the same hard drive. However I removed the mac partition now so it's just the windows partition. I am just trying to figure out how to get windows to boot again now. I just installed windows on another hard drive and can access all the files on the drive that isn't booting if that helps any.

Beerkex'd
Use a SATA DVD drive and enable AHCI for your SATA controller in the BIOS. Most people over here use Gigabyte motherboards, it's a good place for you to look for help: http://www.efixusers.com/

Beerkex'd
You need to find a hacked installation DVD that supports booting from devices connected to your (JMicron? you didn't say) PATA controller. I dont' have any motherboards with a JMicron PATA controller so I can't help you if that's what you have. Gigabyte boards usually have the JMicron, ASUS uses Marvell. Obviously your first step is to find out the make and model of the PATA controller on your motherboard. Beerkex'd
Nope, no idea, I don't have any motherboards with JMicron controllers. Try to find the original release threads here on IM for the various distros, there should be a list of the drivers you can pick during the customization process, before installing. Look for a kernel extension with JMicron in the name. iPC 10.5.6 Universal Final might work: http://ipcosx86.wikidot.com/
vimpreal2010
Yes, your processor okay for leopard cracked, it's what i knew it good work on kalyway 10.5.2, ipc 10.5.6 and iatkos 10.5.7 but no snow leopard 10.6 family.
Beerkex'd
Wrong, several people are running Snow Leopard on AMD platforms. Just take a quick look over in the Snow Leopard post-installation forum.
