pulse00
Hi there, i'm struggling with my new 24" Samsung display, which i'm unable to set it's native resolution (1920x1080). At first i thought it's a video driver problem - my video card is a NVidia 9800 GTX+ - but then i realized that another smaller monitor can run on a full resolution of 1400x900 without problems. Also, QE/CI is fully available (dashboard effects, translucient toolbar etc). My problem is that i can't tell if this problem is related to the hackintosh setup, or because the display is defect and reports a wrong default resolution. I've tried to manually set the resolution using SwitchResX, but the app isn't able to switch it, reporting a status of "Inactive - Invalid?" for a custom setting of 1920x1080. When i export the EDID using SwitchResX, i've noticed that the monitor seems to report a wrong default resolution: Established Timings: -------------------- 720 x 400 @ 70Hz 640 x 480 @ 60Hz 640 x 480 @ 67Hz 640 x 480 @ 72Hz 640 x 480 @ 75Hz 800 x 600 @ 56Hz 800 x 600 @ 60Hz 800 x 600 @ 72Hz 800 x 600 @ 75Hz 832 x 624 @ 75Hz 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz 1024 x 768 @ 70Hz 1024 x 768 @ 75Hz 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz Manufacturer Reserved Timings: ------------------------------ Standard Timing Identification: ------------------------------- #0: 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz (8180) The model of the monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster P2450 24". I hooked the monitor up to my MacBookPro - using a HDMI adapter, and there i could run it on 1080p. Has anyone a hint how i could track this problem down ? Btw: I'm running 10.6.3 with Chameleon RC4 using GraphicsEnabler, no video kexts modified. The videocard is detected properly. thanks!
