  1. Hi there, i'm struggling with my new 24" Samsung display, which i'm unable to set it's native resolution (1920x1080). At first i thought it's a video driver problem - my video card is a NVidia 9800 GTX+ - but then i realized that another smaller monitor can run on a full resolution of 1400x900 without problems. Also, QE/CI is fully available (dashboard effects, translucient toolbar etc). My problem is that i can't tell if this problem is related to the hackintosh setup, or because the display is defect and reports a wrong default resolution. I've tried to manually set the resolution using SwitchResX, but the app isn't able to switch it, reporting a status of "Inactive - Invalid?" for a custom setting of 1920x1080. When i export the EDID using SwitchResX, i've noticed that the monitor seems to report a wrong default resolution: Established Timings: -------------------- 720 x 400 @ 70Hz 640 x 480 @ 60Hz 640 x 480 @ 67Hz 640 x 480 @ 72Hz 640 x 480 @ 75Hz 800 x 600 @ 56Hz 800 x 600 @ 60Hz 800 x 600 @ 72Hz 800 x 600 @ 75Hz 832 x 624 @ 75Hz 1024 x 768 @ 60Hz 1024 x 768 @ 70Hz 1024 x 768 @ 75Hz 1280 x 1024 @ 75Hz Manufacturer Reserved Timings: ------------------------------ Standard Timing Identification: ------------------------------- #0: 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz (8180) The model of the monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster P2450 24". I hooked the monitor up to my MacBookPro - using a HDMI adapter, and there i could run it on 1080p. Has anyone a hint how i could track this problem down ? Btw: I'm running 10.6.3 with Chameleon RC4 using GraphicsEnabler, no video kexts modified. The videocard is detected properly. thanks!
  2. thanks for the hint, but i couldn't find anything. could you be more specific about what the guide is about / what causes the mouse lag ?
  3. thanks for your help guys, i managed to get it running (besides that i still have to boot using the cd, but i'll figure that one out later). I'm still having one problem though, wondering if anyone else encountered this too. My mouse lags frequently, ie when i'm quickly moving through a menu, it stops at some position, and appears on the point where i moved the mouse after some lag. It's not a big thing, but it's disrupting the workflow somewhat. Any hints greatly appreciated.
  4. RME HDSP MacOSX (x86) drivers released

i'm having problems running the hdsp driver on snow leopard. my system freezes after reboot when the driver has been installed. anyone else having this problem under 10.6 ?
  5. hi all. i've managed to install the retail version sucessfully, however my onboard network card is not recognized. anyone else had this issue ?
  6. I've put all my ram back in, but in the extensions part of the system profiler i can't find any kext like those mentioned in the thread you linked. The only ATA like thing is IOAHCISerialATAPI. Should those kexts only appear if i use 4 gigs of ram or also without ?I have the jmicron controller disabled in my bios, maybe that's why it doesn't appear.
  7. unfortunately, my system still randomly freezes, but i think i found the reason. I have 4 x 1 GB OCZ PC2 6400 rams. The freezes only occur if i put all 4 gigs into the motherboard. Everything works fine if i only use 2 of them. I've tested all 4 memory modules using "Rember", and it didn't report any errors. The only thing noticeable is the ram timings: 2 of my rams have written 4-4-4-15 on the label, the other 2 only 4-4-4 ,without 15. I'm not familiar with the memory timing stuff. In the bios, i've tried setting everything to Auto in the AI Tweaker panel, the freezes still occur. Also, i've tried setting the timings to 4-4-4-15, freezes still occur. Does anyone have a hint what might cause a freeze if i use 4 gigs of ram instead of 2 ? thanks !
  8. thanks for the info. i've reinstalled everything all over and put my osx harddisk on sata port 1. also, i think i had a mess with my ram. i use 4 x 1 gb ram modules, 2x 1 pair, which were not sitting in there synchronously i think. After doing some hardware modifications, everything's up and running again thanks !
  9. hi all. i've installed ideneb 10.5.6 on my p5q 3 weeks ago and everything was working flawlessly until i pressed the sleep button by mistake. After i did that, the computer restartet immediately and the bios was reset (saying an overclocking attempt failed). Since this incident, my system freezes randomly. I've already re-flashed my bios with the patched one posted here, and i've already re-installed the system 3 times, but the freezes remain. Does anyone know how i could track this one down ? thanks !
  10. Hi, 2 months ago i successfully installed iDeneb 10.5.6 on my Asus P5Q. To get it working i had to flash my bios with the modified one floating around somewhere in these forums. Everything worked perfectly, i've had absolutely no troubles with the system. One week ago, i've pressed the "Sleep" entry in the Apple menu by mistake. After doing so, the machine immediately rebooted (without shutting down or something). During Post, i got some warning that the bios settings were wrong. As it turned out, all bios settings have been reset. I've tried to restore all settings in the bios as prior to the crash, but since this incident, my system randomly freezes every 2 - 3 hours. Does anyone know how i can debug this situation to track down the reason ? I mean it was working perfectly before for 2 months, so i assume that it's some setting in the bios which causes this. For some reason i have a feeling that it's memory related. Any hints how to track this one down would be greatly appreciated. thanks !
  11. Has anyone else experienced that the installer hangs at the end at "Writing package receipt" ? If so, what did you do ?
  12. About This Mac crash solved *Properly*!

the download link in the blog from post #1 gives me an "invalid download link" error. could anyone re-share this extension ? thanks!
  13. hi there, i'm having troubles getting the intellipoint software to manage the mouse speed. setting the pointer option to "IntelliPoint pointer speed" instead of "System Mouse Tracking" doesn't make any changes. still using the system mouse tracking, which has a ridiculous fast speed, even at the slowest setting, whereas the scrolling-wheel speed is extremely slow. anyone an idea what might be the problem ? thanks!
  14. Christmas Miracle ! Juhui !

Thank you so much! Finally this card is up and running One question though... is there a way to control the fan speed? when i boot into osx, the fan seems to be at max speed, which is quite loud. also, i'm not so sure if it's good for the cards lifetime to keep running at max speed.
  15. Cant install Ati x1950xtx
