Hi all,

I recently bought a Acer Aspire M7811. This is a Core i7 based platform. Specs are as follows:

Intel Core i7 860

Intel H57 express chipset

6GB DDR3 memory

1.5TB Ecodrive HDD

NVIDIA GeForce GT320 1GB DDR3

I am convinced it should work, but please correct me if this is not a configuration that could work.

So far I have read throug many topics, but none have helped me so far.

What I did up to now:

Downloaded and burned Empire EFI for the Core i7 1.085

Booted Empire EFI, switched the DVD with the snow leopard install DVD (the original upgrade DVD)

During booting snow leo, it rebooted; tried with -v; after a lot of reboots noticed it reboots after the line "starting Mac OSX".

Then I discovered in the threads to use the following boot params: "cpus=2 busratio=21", which also did help me...

So I don't know what is wrong and why it reboots. please help me solving this issue.

Thanks, ##### did the trick. I only needed the -x flag by the way. Otherwise the language selection screen would stay gray....

Hello, I have Intel i3 processor with H57 chipset. I am able to boot from SL DVD but it doesn't recognize my SATA HDD or ethernet card. Does your installation of SL recognizes them....?

I have a Dell Inspiron 580 (Core i3, H57) and my SATA (Intel ICHx) is recognised by iAtkos S3 (SL 10.6.3) using ##### Universal with BusRatio=21.

Hope that helps -- I am in the process of doing a full install tonight -- I know the built in card reader is not supported :D
