thx4dat
Some notes on the Opera browser. It connects to alot of stuff automatically: Before I put my fingers to the keyboard Opera automatically tries to connect to: certs.opera.com f99-057.opera-mini.net 91.203.99.57 on port 443 https www.google.com 74.125.127.103, 74.125.127.104, 74.125.127.105, 74.125.127.106, 74.125.127.147, 74.125.127.99 on port 443 (https) img.imgsmail.ru 91.100.181.39, 94.100.181.39, 94.100.189.180 94.100.189.181 on port 80 img.mail.ru 94.100.181.38 on port 80 (http) ----cut ---- person: Vladimir Gabrelyan address: 47, Leningradsky prospect, Moscow, Russia e-mail: gabrelyan@corp.mail.ru ----cut---- img.yandex.net 213.180.204.44, 77.88.21.44, 93.158.134.44 on port 80 redir.opera.com f99-052.opera-mini.net 91.203.99.52 on port 80 www.fastmail.fm 66.111.4.55, 66.111.4.56 on port 80 www.opera.com 195.189.143.147 Even if these are innocent connections, I don't want the browser connecting to things that I don't know about. Connections without my knowledge annoy me. 2) Opera Crashes when I delete private data and it is not connected to the internet. That is, when my machine is connected to the net, Opera deletes private data fine (Tools > delete private data) When my machine is not connetted to the net, Opera barfs when I try to delete private data. Why should the software do this? 3) Cannot disable software updates. Even when I disable updates (Preferences > Security > advanced > disable udates tab) Opera still calls home. 4) I like the book mark search and the site by site preferences tab that lets me disable the java monster.
