oldtopman
I installed iDeneb 1.4 (10.5.6). The only things I've changed are a kext for wifi and com.apple.boot.plist. I ran system update once, then remembered that I shouldn't and quit without clicking the update button. The patches outlined here I installed. I need 10.5.8 to run skype. I've heard that you can update to 10.5.8 just fine if you have a vanilla kernel (is this true, do i have one, can i get one) and if I have some other flavor or whatnot how do I update (I have all the 10.5.x updates downloaded to my other computer (.dmg file or whatever type they are). Beerkex'd
I've heard that you can update to 10.5.8 just fine if you have a vanilla kernel (is this true, do i have one, can i get one) and if I have some other flavor or whatnot how do I update Open Terminal and type uname -a, post the output here. If you're not running the vanilla kernel, you can prepare for an update like this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=209192 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/218968-vanilla-chocolate-kernels/#findComment-1472101 Share on other sites
michael.su
I run Skype at least once a week on my Hack running iPC 10.5.6. Are you sure you need 10.5.8? michael.su
I am running Skype version 2.8.0.722 at the moment. USB sound adapter and an Agent V3 webcam. Video conferencing and everything works great. are you using a webcam or is the sound crashing Skype before you even turn your camera on? oldtopman
Ahhhh. It was because of this problem (almost fixed hinthint beerkex'd). Apparently the call crashes if my webcam isn't plugged in i'll try this.
