brutalhonesty
So, my Snow Leopard install is almost perfect, but wifi isn't working. I decided to buy a Netgear WG111v3 adaptor and got it in. The notes on the side of the HCL 10.6.0 list tell me these two things... # manually cp RT8186Bl.kext to /System/Library/Extensions(may need to boot with "-f" to refresh the driver cache) # install netgear's driver(only select utility to connect to wireless networks, do deselect the "driver") WTF is RT818Bl.kext? I've searched all over for it (INCLUDING this site) and came up with useless german posts and nothing at all. Help! imacken
I don't really have a clue, but it could well be a Realtek chip. In fact, it's probably RTL8186 not RT8186. But, as I say, I'm only guessing. shaun2312
Try the Realtek site. It was there last I needed it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/218723-wtf-is-rt8186blkext-where-do-i-find-it/#findComment-1475922 Share on other sites
