yonyz Posted May 13, 2010 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Hi, I'm trying to merge two Journaled HFS+ partitions, but I keep getting this diskutil error: "Merging partitions encountered error Could not read partition map (-9988) on disk disk0s4 disk0s3. The erase will not occur.". How do I solve it? I'm already out of space in the OS X partition, and I'm dual-booting it with Windows 7 (which was installed first), using a single hard disk. A screenshot is attached. Thanks in advance. What. The. {censored}. I just restarted my PC, and got this "chain booting error" when I triedto boot OS X.
