Isn't SSE3 used to accelerate those PowerPC apps?

I run a installer of borland tegether, which is actually a PowerPC application

It takes 2G of virtual ram and around 85% CPU time with 17 threads...

Oh my god... my opteron 146 is {censored}...

first, try to reinstall ... i used to have the same issue, and that was just caused by a bad installation ...

then you better try searchin' for universal binaries instead of using PPc apps ... and let the PPc apps runs on a REAL mac

A good test would be trying the same thing on an intel Mac , I bet it will still run like {censored}. Some things just emulate better in rosetta than others , sounds like you are trying to run some kind of pro app which may be designed/optimized for the G5. I only have SSE2 but Maya 7 works suprizingly well in rosetta , on the other hand Flash runs slow as hell in rosetta...
