Installed on a brand new system. i7 920, GA-X58-UD5, EVGA 9800 GTX+, 6GB G-SKILL 1333

I installed Windows 7 on two WD Green 500GB in RAID0. I removed the two RAID drives and installed Snow Leopard on a third WD Green 500GB (not part of the array). When the system reboots after the install it hangs at:

Verifying DMI Pool Data........

Boot from CD/DVD :

(Note: This is with boot priority CDROM -> HDD. If I swap it to boot off HDD first, I get Verifying DMI Pool Data..... and nothing else)

When I unplug the SL drive and plug the two Windows 7 drives back in the system hangs at:

Verifying DMI Pool Data...... SUCCESS

I had been messing around with overclocking when I was just using Win7 (which was disappointing, but that's another thread) but clock speeds are back to defaults before the SL install. After googling the issue, I tried underclocking my memory but it still hangs at the same spot.

Any ideas? There shouldn't be any compatibility issues with this rig.

I'm retarded... I had burned the legacy ISO for Kakewalk and missed the part in the instructions where it doesn't work with x58. My powerbook only has Panther so the kakewalk app wouldn't run on it (which is why I was trying to use a boot cd created in windows). I went in to work and made the kakewalk boot cd on an intel mac and then the install went seamlessly!
