ileikcaek
I removed NullCPUPowermanagement.kext from my 10.6.3 install as for some reason it has been causing my computer to make squealing noises at me (for example hovering over the dock, moving windows around on the screen and toggling sliders, all I can hear when doing this is "sssssssssssssss" "sssssssssssss". I'm not sure how to explain it, maybe a capacitor on the graphics card/mobo?. I have Disabler.kext which also disables the Apple CPU Power Management but with this I get very trashy Flash performance, but only with video's, the audio plays but the video is always catching up and pausing, I have tried different versions of flash so it isn't that. Is there any explanation as to what is causing the sequel sound with Nullcpupowermanagement.kext? it is very unbearable. I'm not sure on the solution, I know the best way would be to craft a DSDT file to get native speedstep, but I wouldn't be able to do that alone. My specs are in my signature, Everything is working fine but this small problem. Does anybody have any ideas please? Thank you in advance!
ileikcaek
Hello again, Me and a friend have worked out that it could very well be my graphics card causing interference through the on board sound Realtek ALC888S It's started doing this in windows now too, especially when the system is under a lot of load (running flash media encoder) I can scroll web pages and a distinct faint squeal comes from the speakers. but in Mac OS X with Nullcpupowermanagement.kext it is much much worse and does it regardless of system load, hovering over the dock, moving windows around on the screen and toggling sliders (left to right slider, not up and down ones strangely). could my only way to solve this problem be to make a DSDT with proper speedstep?
