I'm trying to update my snow leopard 10.6 to 10.6.3 .

First of all the Software Update app shows NO 10.6.3 0r 10.6.2 at all, not even safari or iTunes. Other updates like those for iLife and Aperture are fine. I then downloaded the combo update from Apple but it doesn't install on my drive and terminates with the message:

Mac OS X Update Combined can't be installed on this disk. An error occurred while evaluating javascript for the package

Before this I had a working 10.6.2 but it had the same problem. I formatted the mac and did a clean install. I have downloaded the update twice and checked the md5. It appears to be fine. Its not letting me update Safari as well cuz it requires at least 10.6.1.

Please help. :);)
