sandmanfvrga
I posted this in the Post Installtion forum, but for some reason nobody will respond. Can I put an Intel 950 in my pc and just run that for OSX86? I love OSX86 and it works great, but I want good 2d video and not be using the Nvidia card and hacking the video. SO can anybody help me get an inexpensive card that gives QE and all? Thanks. phoenix3200
The GMA950 is a graphics chipset that Intel makes available only to motherboard manufacturers under the condition that they use the Intel chipset exclusively in a motherboard, and do not use any parts from manufacturers like nVidia or Via. In other words, no, a standalone GMA950 graphics card is not available on the market. In fact, the GMA950 chipset is not anywhere close to as powerful as ATI or nVidia cards; the only reason why Intel has such a high saturation in the graphics card market is because their onboard graphics option (at no extra charge to the consumer) is sufficient for most people's desktop computer usage. While the GMA950 might be the most expensive part on an Intel on the motherboard, I would be surprised if it is worth more than $10 a pop to resellers. Just my two cents.
