N00bishMacer
Hey guys, I know many of you have been asking about how to decrease the fan speed of your graphics card because of noise, l on the other hand have the opposite problem. While running any games which create a load on my 4870, my card overheats and the system freeze's. After checking the firmware of my card it seems to stay at a fan speed of 45% even under full load. Does anyone have any tips or idea's where l can increase the fan speed of my 4870 to a level where the card won't over heat. My system is a Q6600, 4G G.skill Memory, GA-P35-DS3P m/b, and a Asus EAH4870 1Gig ( I have 2 in the machine in Crossfire, but 1 is disabled on boot into Mac OS X) running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Regards the n00b Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214934-asus-eah4870-overheating-issue/ Share on other sites
N00bishMacer
BUMP Recently l even modified the firmware on my 4870's to increase the fan speed to run at max, but even with that, as soon as Mac OS X starts to boot it drops it back to 40% ish and as soon as l run any game it overheats after about 10 mins and freezes the system. Any ideas or help in anyway would be awsome Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214934-asus-eah4870-overheating-issue/#findComment-1487910 Share on other sites
