vahnx
My XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog 512MB Died. It's under a lifetime warranty but my friend who sold it to me forgot the e-mail he registered the card under, so I started a support ticket and am now waiting to see if I'm still covered. Meanwhile... I'm looking for a card that will meet similar requirements: -At least the same speed in games, encoding video, etc. -Works in Windows 7 x64, OSX 10.5.8 or maybe even SL 10.6.3 (if I eventually figure out how to install it), Linux (optional) -2 DVI Ports -Doesn't get too hot (last card seemed to idle at 80-90c and would reach 125c while playing Prison Break: The Conspiracy and reboot) -Push 1680x1050x32x2 (two 1680x1050 monitors) w/ DVI I hope that's not too much. The 8800GT worked fine for most of that, except it got too hot and died. Thanks! Mackilroy
Bake it. My 8800 GT from Apple died - I disassembled it, stuck it in the oven, baked it, and now it works great. If you're running a hackintosh (I have no clue) and don't want to bake your 8800, go for a 9800 GT.
