will1384
This is how it appears in system profiler in the network section. Wondering if there's a fix for this? I'm running 10.6 on EP43-UD3L E3200 Asus 8400 GS Thanks I was using auto setup on my built-in network and it worked, but no Bonjour, and got searching threw the forums for a fix, came across a driver made by Realtek just for Mac, kinda shocked me Realtek Software: Drivers & Utilities The driver at the bottom of that page I am using a DSDT on my GA-EP43-UD3L, the "myHack Installer" and in my "/Extra/Extensions" folder all I have is EvOreboot.kext FakeSMC.kext NullCPUPowerManagement.kext I also disabled auto setup of the network by editing "com.apple.Boot.plist" Like this <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>n</string> With the Realtek driver, auto setup of the network is no longer needed Even with all that, the network card is listed as "100baseTX" on my system but remember, you need to be using cable that can handle Gigabit speed, and a device that supports Gigabit on the other end of that cable Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/214622-ep43-ud3l-lan-working-oob-but-listed-as-10100-not-gigabit/#findComment-1441374 Share on other sites
promac34
I downloaded and installed the Realtech driver from the Realtech website, and changed the com.apple.Boot.plist to <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>n</string> without any luck. The NIC still works but only at 10/100, not Gigabit. For proof I downloaded a large file from my local server to see if there was a difference in transfer rate between my hackintosh and my MacBook Pro (Airport turned off). The hackintosh tops out at around 11mb/sec when downloading the file. When I take the ethernet cable out of the hackintosh and plug it into my MacBook Pro, it downloads the same file at around 30mb/sec. My system: 10.6.3 GA-EP43-UD3L Nvidia 8500GT SATA At this point the slow ethernet is just annoying as it takes an extra 40 minutes to backup my server, but I guess I can live with it. ***EDIT 4/11/10 3:55pm*** After further research I was able get the full Gigabit ethernet working by just manually changing the Ethernet setting to 1000baseT - Full-Duplex in System Preferences. The file from my server now downloads at 43mb/sec.
