  1. Here is a problem I ran into (1) GTS250 with two DVI (2) Older HDTV that has HDMI and Component, but no VGA or DVI - used with a "DVI to HDMI adapter" (3) Computer Monitor that has VGA only - Used with a "DVI to VGA adapter" If I just tried using "DVI to HDMI adapter" with the HDTV, it would lockup showing only a black screen on both monitors so I had to use a "DVI to VGA adapter" connected to a "VGA to Component adapter box", to use the HDTV Later I found a modified NVEnabler KEXT, then I could use the "DVI to HDMI adapter" with the HDTV and set the TV up to use the audio output from the motherboard. Later... - and were the sound related issues are - (1) GT240, that has HDMI, VGA, DVI (2) Older HDTV that has HDMI and Component, but no VGA or DVI (3) Computer Monitor that has VGA only - Used with a DVI to VGA adapter A: Using a patched AppleHDA KEXT for my motherboard, I get motherboard sound - but TV no longer accepts audio output from the motherboard. - sound is getting to TV - TV is not using it - B: Using newest VoodooHDA, from over at "Voodoohda Driver, Fully working!" I get no motherboard sound, and it only shows four digital outputs and none work. C: Using the patched VoodooHDA from here, and using "Property List Editor" to edit "info.plist" inside VoodooHDA, with VoodooHDAVidSkip to 0x10de VoodooHDADivSkip to 0x0BE4 BTW "Property List Editor" will convert the values for you, what you input changes automatically And now I get motherboard sound - but TV still refuses to accepts audio output from the motherboard. - sound is getting to TV - TV is not using it - Somehow the TV is detecting audio on HDMI and choosing it over the audio output from the motherboard.

10 Things Linux Does Better Than Windows

I never had to do that to solve my problems, LOL No Windows, Linux and OS X might crash once every few months Using Windows unprotected is likely your problem I often install over 100 pieces of software on Windows, a lot of it freeware, never any problems You hate Windows, and are exaggerating things to prove your point
  3. LOL, the same software we use but in a custom flash drive, somehow changes things ?

10 Things Linux Does Better Than Windows

I can say the same about Windows, when I run into a problem I know how to fix it, because of years of experience Windows crashes no more and no less than Linux or OS X for me Viruses, Spyware and Malware were my only problems, I had not got a BSOD or random sudden re-boot in years WTF are you talking about, are you using a 386 Software installations take a few seconds for me

What do I give up going to OS X from win 7

I have been using Windows ever since Windows 3.1, the only real problems I had were with Windows 95 and ME, everything else worked just fine all the way threw to Windows 7, BTW I skipped Vista, I just kept using XP LOL, the problems I did have were (1) Viruses / Malware / Spyware (2) Hardware (Bad Hardware) I was getting an infection about once every 2 years on average, but I am a heavy downloader, so a lot of the time the infections were my fault I went to Hackintosh because its less prone to infection What I miss about Windows is : (1) File Manager, and nothing comes close to the Windows File Manager on the Mac (2) Windows Media Center, (3) Lots of good Freeware, of that an equivalent can not be found for OS X, there is Freeware for OS X, just nothing I want except a few media players (4) Games, there are options but none of them 100% for OS X I run OS X as my main OS and Windows XP under Parallels v5, I tried Windows 7, but it ran slower than XP under Parallels v5, and the Windows 7 Media Center, was useless when under Parallels v5 so I just stuck with Windows XP, Windows XP feels like its running full speed 98% of the time with only an occasional slowdown BTW I have a Pentium Dual-Core 2.8GHz, 4GB Memory, Nvidia GTS250 Video Card
  8. I just had to reinstall, I was unplugging and then replugging my monitors to move one of them around and did not think to shut down first, when I looked back at the screen it was unreadable and I had to press and hold power on my computer to shut it down, I should have booted with the install DVD / thumb drive after that and ran Disk Utility, but I did not, it booted but acted slow and froze up a few times so I shutdown and restarted, it would no longer boot after that, I then ran Disk Utility from my install thumb drive and it told me to wipe and reinstall and that it could not fix the disk, so be careful and keep that install thumb drive or what ever you used handy and use Time Machine
  9. Yea I had tried NVEnabler before, by following the directions over at projectosx.com and never got any ware, just a blank screen, and around the same time I thought tried the one from idoc, I guess not, I got bored and just installed it, and BAM it works on my GTS250, it did switch primary and secondary screens on me, but everything works even mirroring that never worked before Thanks idoc

ASUS 1001HA Simple Guide (Everything is working)

I had the same problem on my 1000HE, I had to boot in 32bit mode, just to get the drivers installed, so I decided to keep it that way LOL If you want to boot into 32bit mode every time automatically, you would need to edit the "com.apple.Boot.plist" in "/Extra" and add <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> Something like this
  11. Why? The RALink drivers more than likely did not need you to run UpdateExtra, but it did not hurt any to do so I had a few problems, dropping connection, or not connecting at start-up were I had to connect it my self, with the RaLink card Here is something from my guide, what happened just after I replaced the card, I dont think it will help, but it might Wireless fails to auto-reconnect After I replaced the "RaLink RT2860" with the Apple Mini PCI Express wireless network card, I found that it would connect and work, but on reboot it failed to auto-reconnect, I Goggled the problem, and found that's a common problem even for real Macs, here is how to fix (1) Run “System Preferences" go to "Network" and delete all your Networks. (2) Run “Keychain Access” delete all your networking related keys (Wi-Fi) (3) Shutdown and reboot. (4) Set your networks back up

Try removing "OSXRestart.kext" and run run "UpdateExtra"
  13. Every time I have tried to use Handbrake on a DVD it mixes the chapters up, making the video unwatchable, I always thought that was the copy protection kicking in. Is there any way to fix that, or was it just the version I downloaded, I have the HandBrake v0.9.4

[GUIDE] Retail Snow Leopard Install on Asus EeePC 1000HE

Yea that "com.apple.Boot.plist" has "-v" in <string>-v arch=i386</string> to help see error messages and the "arch=i386" is for booting into 32bit Do you have "1201N.DSDT.aml" in your "/Extra" folder, if so remove and use one of the DSDT files from my ZIP file

[GUIDE] Retail Snow Leopard Install on Asus EeePC 1000HE

Here is a complete list of my "/Extra/GeneralExtensions" Another thing that may make a difference is that I am using a DSDT, also I use a trimmed down com.apple.Boot.plist in "/Extra", there was a string and a few other thing in there I did not want Here is my "com.apple.Boot.plist" <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>-v arch=i386</string> </dict> </plist> And here are my DSDT and KEXTs, just make sure you use the correct DSDT for the amount of memory you have 1000HE_Files.zip
