First before you post, search for anyone else with a similar problem. The chances are someone already has run into the problems you have and gotten the answers you need.

Now, first google "osx x86 wiki" and check for any systems similar to yours. This will give you an idea of what to expect.

Next obtain a retail copy of Snow Leopard.

Third, research Empire EFI for the install procedure.

Good Luck!

thanks for the reply and im sorry. i did search for people with same problems but no1 had replied to them. ive got the retail copy but i dont no wot to do to get it to boot with my i7. it just restarted so tried bus ratio = 12 but still couldnt get a complete install

Hello ^^

I have a Dell 1747, too. Yesterday I sucessfully installed Snowleopard 10.6.4 :D Wow , that´s was amazing.

But I have two little problem: the touch pad and the keyboard dont work ...

Can Anyone help me :)

It would be very nice =)

Thank you

Have you installed the PS2 drivers?

No i dont know which driver´s I exactly need ...

Do you know which will work ? Can you give me the download links :( It would be very nice ^_^

Thanks ^^

There should be some on the install dvd you used if it was patched. i've only got the drivers for 10.5.8, so you're gonna have to google it. the voodoo ps2 drivers should work

Please, what process did you use? I have the same laptop, and am trying to get it to run Snow Leopard so that I can work on an open source project.

#####, iBootSupported, EFI? Retail DVD I am assuming, or retail DVD burned to a usb drive?

Any help would be appreciated.
