Just yesterday I went to Best Buy and bought a retail Mac OSX Snow Leopard DVD. I downloaded Empire EFI and followed the instructions. I saw code and then the screen went gray. The installer would not load. Like the OSX boot screen but without the Apple and spinning gear. However this should work because this video shows proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud8yuKT-GnI . Here's my system specs:

  • Acer Aspire 3680-2682
  • Intel Celeron M processor 440
    -1.86 GHz
    -533 MHz
    -1MB L2 cache
  • Intel GMA950
  • 1GB RAM

Methods I Already Used:

  • Empire EFI v1.04: Situation Above
  • Inside Mac OSX Leopard: Installs Part Way Then Quits
  • Rebel EFI: Rebel Wouldn't Even Load
  • Boot 132: Darwin Would Say It Was Loading Then The Spinning Cursor Stops
  • From BIOS: Couldn't Read Disc

Help IS appreciated!!!

I don't think Celeron Ms are supported under 10.6.x.

The youtube video you provided is interesting however if you examine it his processor has a 800mHz FSB which leads me to believe that his processor isn't a Celeron. Processors can vary even within the same model computer. I googled a bit an was unable to come back with anyone having a sucessful install of Snow Leopard with a Celeron M.

Hopefully this helps!
