sP3C7RuM
hi guys, just wondering if any of you could help me out on couple issues, im about to purchase a computer specifically for osx, i will be getting a core i3 and a h55 or h57 motherboard to save costs on buying a gpu but dont know wether there is a kext/driver for this chipset, ive seen success with the h55 chipset but using a discrete gpu, is there a way to use the igp on these new clarkdale processors, or do i have to go with buying a gpu, im not worried about 3D performance but do want all the eye candy enabled within osx (QE,CI), this box will be more for internet access and downloading. the board i want to buy is an Asus P7H55-M PRO any help would be greatly appreciated :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/213517-intel-hd-graphics/#findComment-1434202 Share on other sites

For our sake(4500 owners) I hope you are right. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/213517-intel-hd-graphics/#findComment-1434270 Share on other sites
MackLicious
is it necesary to have a video card and a sound card in my hackintosh? below is the parts list that I have compiled based on a couple tutorials that i have resaerched. i can't find hte video card that was recomended, and I am not sure waht to look for in a compatible replacement. I am trying to consider anything else i am missing. i am a web developer and video editor, BTW if that helps in considering if this is a viable configuration for me. This is the first computer i have built ( will build), but I have replaced the hardrive, ram. and power intake on my Ibook G$ so i am confident in my hands. Umm that looks to be a frickin awesome machine, I would go for GTS250 (9800GTX+) or at most a GTX260, those cards with your current setup are supported in OSX, you wouldnt need a seperate sound card because your onboard ICH10 is already well supported, go to the SL Installation section and theres the kakewalk install method there which I think fully supports your mobo. Good Luck with everything, If I had enough money I would have bought that system but budget permitting I'm going with an i3 setup and hoping that the IGP on the h55 chipset will soon be supported coz im poor, lol otherwise might get a GTS250 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/213517-intel-hd-graphics/#findComment-1436214 Share on other sites
