mad baboon
hey im wondering if this buid will work 100% because ive tryed installing on my intell satellite l30 laptop (intel) with no luck just crashes over somthing to do with the sleep function? (it just crashes on boot) and my main desktop (amd athlon 2 (am3) quad core 2.6ghz, gigabyte ga-m720-us3, with a 9500 gt nvidia card, with 2gb ram (used to be more ram but i got rid of it)) that crashes on boot aswell after ive installed it, tryed with numerious packages selected on both. so basicly i want to know if this build will be suitable... preferably a cheaper graphics card than this intel cpu - INTEL PENTIUM DUAL CORE E6500 - £59.95 ram - (got 1gb already) + 1GB 800 MHz DDR2 - £10.95 graphics card- nVIDIA GeForce 9400GT Graphics Card, 512MB DDR2 - £40.48 harddrive - (60gb sata * got already) power - CIT 450W Gold 12Cm Silent Atx Power Supply - £17.99 motherboard - Gigabyte - GA-G41M-ES2L - £44.49 dvd drive - (ive got a spare dvd r/w) thanks please help! lazybon3
Hello, Just check with the search function if you find kexts(drivers) for those 2 components: Gb LAN: (RTL8111DL) 7.1 Audio: (ALC888B) Those are the onboard components on the Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L Mainboard. If you find kexts for those i see no reason why SL shouldn't run on this System. Of course it won't simply just run, but if you put a little work in optimizing it should run ok on that system. gl&hf bye. pirloui
As lazybon3 says. The G31-ES2L, if you can find it, might be a hair more compatible. (ethernet + audio) Else; capital letters in the thread title is pretty rude, and it seems as your thread should have a higher priority than the others. pirloui
Your best bet will be to find a guide specifically for your motherboard, and follow it to the letter. There are ways to install without having another Mac, so you will be fine. All you need is patience and a guide or two. Good luck!
