Jerime Pope
I currently have OS X 10.5.8 (I'm not actually 100% on the .8 (could be .6)) installed on my external USB HDD. It works (it boots, that's really all I'm concerned about for now). I've partitioned the external HDD in GUID with 3 partitions. They are as follows: -(1)- OS X 10.5.8 iDeneb -(2)- OS X 10.6.2 Hazard -(3)- OS X 10.6.0 Retail Install Drive The thing is, it boots into Leopard but when I try to boot into SL it just hangs at Darwin/x86 (Loading [Mach_Kernel]). I have tried more than one method of booting SL. I have tried the Hazard distro., the retail copy (from USB drive), and the OS X 3.5 Universal version. I have followed various guides trying to get this to work. Including installing it to a separate partition inside Leopard. Any help?! My specs. are as follows: ------------------------------------ Intel® Pentium® Dual Core™ T4400 (2.2GHz/800MHz FSB/1MB cache) 3GB3 Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz 250GB5 SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD Dell Wireless 1397 802.11g Half Mini-Card ------------------------------------ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/213218-snow-leopard-on-dell-inspiron-1545/ Share on other sites
Jerime Pope
I would appreciate some help. As of right now, I have Hazard's 10.6.2 installed. When I go to boot it shows a power logo and says I need to restart my computer. mdnz01
Could you boot with -v at the boot prompt and make a picture of what it's saying? Jerime Pope
It doesn't give me a boot prompt. The only way I can even choose to boot it is through a boot loader (installed or on CD). I've taken several pictures on my phone (but apparently Win7 doesn't recognize it...) plibber
Run chameleon bootloader and when on the boot screen hit your down arrow to get a promt and run -v I am running the 1545 however mine is the celeron. I had to remove Sleepenabler.kext to run SL. I am running as of now 10.6.3 off of a retail install.
