invisiblesurfer
Hi chaps, what installation method would you recommend for a new setup consisting of: EX58-UD3R + i7 920 + Kingston 6GB (3x2) + 8800GT NVIDIA Kakewalk seems the easiest, but does it need many kexts? I think Cindori has posted a guide that only requires 1 or 2 kexts (but that was for his own UD5 mobo). Any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks and greetings from Athens! PS: Oh, wish me good luck too! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/213089-my-new-hack-set-up-ex58-ud3r-i7-920/ Share on other sites

everdone
Atlee's technique will work on the UD3R board. I use it on mine and it works well. You can also try DigitalDreamers Script, which happens to be my favorite for doing the housekeeping chores of installing and removing kexts and changing bootloaders. One just needs to modify kexts in his kextfolders to determine what is loaded or removed. Atlee's dsdt file works well and allows a number of kexts be removed. I only use 4 on my board as opposed to 8 when I first did the configuration. thanks for the reply mate but you seem to have a different motherboard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/213089-my-new-hack-set-up-ex58-ud3r-i7-920/#findComment-1430431 Share on other sites

jackmcmahon
I also used UDR3 and it really works well. But then again your problem is your motherboard.
