invisiblesurfer
Hi chaps - do you guys have any feedback on the Gigabyte EX58-UD3R on its behaviour with OSX SL? I am considering a system based on that mobo and an i7 920 cpu. As you can imagine I am a bit tight on cash at the moment and it doesn't look like the difference between the Ud3R and the UD5 are huge anyway. Anyways I look forward to a few words of encouragement. neil43
Yes I am on this motherboad now in SL and everything that I care about works great. When you are ready to install, locate/search for the guide Kakewalk. Enjoy. neil Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/212737-any-experience-with-the-ex58-ud3r/#findComment-1426978 Share on other sites
everdone
The X58-UD3R is a good board, it's what I am using right now. There are a number of techniques available for getting this board up and running with OSX. If you want to save a little more money look at the 1156 socket P55 boards. I just built a P55M-UD2 with i5. This is a very easy and fast build. check out tonymacx86's blog for methods to get this board to work. I would suggest using the i7 processor instead of the i5, although there is nothing really wrong with the i5. Either way you go there is a wealth of info on how to get the builds working and you should have good results.
