alvin777
Hi. Assuming the iMac i7 defaults to 32-bit and that the user doesn't know that pressing 6 and 4 upon boot time takes it to 64-bit mode when it boots, how will the iMac i7 use 8GB then if it boots in 32-bit mode by default? How do you make OS X boot permanently to 64-bit? Is that setting located in the System Preferences? Thanks in advance. Like a PC's BIOS, is there any way to access the EFI and take a look on what's in there? To tweak it for your needs? Is the firmware also the EFI? What's the capacity of the EFI anyway? Gbu. unixfool
http://macperformanceguide.com/SnowLeopard-64bit.html At the bottom of the article, you'll find two methods of making 64-bit mode persistent. Pick one method.
