Can anyone walk me through installing my Geforce GT 210 in my hackintosh. I have it running at 1024x768 and have been told it can be made fully functional under OSX. I am a complete noob with osx so please be patient with me. I just want to get this running correctly. Thanks in advance!

PS

I did use the search function but found alot of the information I found rather confusing.

I would also like help with this. I didn't think the graphics cards would be this difficult to make functional.

with the sojugarden myHack package and 10.6.3, the 210 just worked. myHack uses a patched version of chameleon which seems to enable more video cards when GraphicsEnabler=yes.

try joeblough suggestion first

1)

com.apple.boot.plist

edit and insert this text in there anywhere between the <dict> tags

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>yes</string>

if you have chameleon installed, use the com.apple.boot.plist found in /Extra

2)

if that doesn't work, then remove that and try Enabler_for_nVidia_ati_cards.pkg attached to this post, someone said they installed this and rebooted and it worked

3)

it that doesn't work, try generating a custom EFI string with OSX86tools ( label it nVidia GTS 210 , choose your ram, then your DVI/VGA/etc. layout) and copy the device-properties string to your com.apple.boot.plist

if you need help being walked through one of those just ask. i don't have access to a 210 so I can't help you test. if all options are a dead end, sell the card on ebay and buy a gts 250 or card that is garunteed to work (preferably with an easier install method)

Do I need snow leo for this card or is it possible in leopard? It's not possible to load a graphics driver from 10.6 in 10.5 is it?

I've been trying to get the Galaxy 210 card working with my GA-P35-DS3L and 10.6.5. With graphicsenabler=n it boots to a native, albeit unaccelerated desktop. With graphicsenabler=y it boots to a blank screen (the monitor backlight is on and you can tell the machine has booted, but you get no video). Used the myHack installer.

Sort of a head scratcher.

I think with gigabyte boards you also need to add PciRoot=1 or it might be =0 can't remember which.

On my system (ASUS P8H67 with Core i5-2500, Hazard 10.6.6i) I also was stuck on the 1024x768 resolution with my GT210.. until I connected both analog and digital cables to my monitor. It turns out that with only the digital connection the system is unable to get monitor info.

The EFI string method works fine if you want to use a fixed resolution, but the monitor info doesn't show all possible settings.

No special kext or setting needed, only GraphicsEnabler on.
