Hello,

Did anyone get Intel Pro 100 VE or NIC working in Snow leopard?

The hardware wiki of 10.6 tells it works by adding the device ID. My own is 1094:8086

So does the VE hardware work or the VE NIC? And I have no idea as to which my own card is.

I only got it working in 10.5.6 and 10.5.8 by following this guide. (Ignore the adult content warning, there isn't any!)

Thanks.

Maybe my post is not clear enough,

I want to know if there is a way to know which model is my Intel Pro 100 card.

Is it VE or VE NIC? And also which model works in snow leopard 10.6?

OSX86Tools and other similar apps use lspci to list the PCI devices. You may have lspci already installed, in the terminal type:

sudo lspci -nn

Then look for your device.

I have the same Intel PRO/100 VE in my laptop (device ID 0x10928086) but I haven't been able to make it work in 32-bit mode Snow. The HCL says it should work and I have tried everything I found in the forums: adding EFI string to com.apple.Boot.plist, EthernetBuiltIn=y, the correct device ID is in IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleIntel8255x.kext/Contents/Info.plist, changed OSBundleRequired from "Network-Root" to "Root", I have the latest Chameleon 2 RC5 etc. etc. but the profiler still says "This computer does not appear to have any PCI Ethernet cards installed". This is very frustrating. I haven't found another thread about this card and Snow either - the other thread is about 10.5.* Leopard

I'm guessing the card does not work in Snow Leopard, but PCI (or push and snap) ethernet cards are just $30. But I followed this guide to get Intel Pro 100 VE working in 10.5.6 and 10.5.8.

Thanks for your help, I'm sticking to my leopard,
