Hey guys. I have a small issue with the secondary display on 10.5.8. It works fine, but everytime I open a game, for example, in fullscreen, the secondary monitor goes black and stays that way till I exit that game. On Windows this is not happening. Is this an OS X issue, or do I have to do something to get the 2nd monitor to ignore what I'm doing on the 1st one?

Thanks. :)

P.S. It's not on mirror mode, it's extended.

Hmm..it seems that you didn't understand completely. This is NOT a problem, the screens are back to normal after exiting the game. The issue is that the secondary one goes blank WHILE I'm playing on the primary screen, and this thing doesn't happen in Windows and it's not normal, imo. For example, I usually keep a messenger chat window on the secondary display while playing on the primary, to see any messages that may show up, so I don't have to alt-tab every time I hear the new message sound. But with this issue, the secondary display is useless while I'm in a fullscreen app on the primary monitor.

This should happen (if I'm not mistaking) if the two monitors are in clone mode (or mirror mode, in OSX), but that's not the case, they're independent.

P.S. @oldnapalm: Well, every game I played so far was the same, so I don't think it's an application thing. :D

You may be right, I said it was a guess.

Please post specs when asking for help, nobody knows anything about your video hardware or your configuration.

Your issue is not related to the issue discussed in this thread.

If you have nvidia video, go to the projectOSX forums and read the post titled 'guide for all nvidia boards' by Krazubu.

If you have ATI or something else I don't know what to tell you. Find someone with the same video card as you by searching and see if they have the same problem and what they did to fix it.
