pepechuelo79
Hi, I made a wonderful Hackintosh following the great Kakewalk method http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=195248 I would like to have another disk into the same computer from which I could bootup in case a crisis appears in the main bootup disk. My main disk is a Western Digital Caviar Green 2T partitioned in two. In the first partition resides Snow Leopard. Its Partition Map Type is GUID. On the other hand, I have another disk into the same computer that is a Western Digital Caviar Green 1T with two partitions. In one of those partitions I have Carbon Copy Cloned my original bootup disk. I called this partition "Snow Leopard BackUp". This disk has a Partition Map Type APM (Apple Partition Map). Here are my main questions: 1) Will Partition Map APM of "Snow Leopard BackUp" disk be a future problem for me? I mean, is APM type of partition compatible with hackintosh? In case I want to reboot from "Snow Leopard BackUp", will APM be an impossible problem to be solved by bootloader? Would I need to format this disk as GUID for the purpose I follow? 2) In "System Preferences > Startup Disk" I see the following image ... If I just click "Snow Leopard BackUp" disk it will start up from that disk? It would be as simple as that? (I´m afraid that in the case I do that I will never (or easily) bootup again). Or do I need to install a bootloader in that disk? In such case, could anybody guide me to do that in a way that this will not interfere with my very stable Hackintosh? My dream is that Chameleon offers me both disks at the very beginning of start up process. So, in case I broke my main system disk I just start up again, but from the "Snow Leopard BackUp" disk to start a process of repairing the main system disk. Do my questions have any sense or am I following a very convoluted path? Thanks in advance.
