WM Richard Posted February 11, 2010 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Hi all, When I try to install snow leopard. When it is loading the dvd I get the following error: Still waiting for root device. I have an Ide harddisk and an Ide dvddrive. Set the harddisk to master and the ide drive to slave and vice versa but it is not working. NTAuthority Posted February 11, 2010 Share Posted February 11, 2010 Modern chipsets don't natively support IDE anymore, and usually OS X has issues with non-native IDE. Even if it'd find your DVD drive for booting, your HDD would also not be supported. Likely solution: get SATA. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
