it all depends on your method of install, weather you use EFI or not and which bootloader you use and if you can have graphics enabler set to yes in your boot.plist, what card do you have in mind? what mobo do you have and what distro are you using or is it a retail install? need to know all the above before can advise, or the short answer would be any mac edition video card.

I see. Its a ASUS P5WDG2-WS PRO motherboard which seems to work pretty well so far. Im using the IATKOS v7 installer and it seems to work OK with my ATI HD2400 PRO, but i cant get DVI or anything, so id rather just buy a 50$ nvidia card that will work right off. I wont be playing games or anything, and wont be in need of any great graphics. Right now I can only get into like 1400x1000 or something odd like that, id like to be able to do 1440x900 but when I try to use the boot option it just messes the screen up. In short I just wanna buy a card that works. Can you expound on the mac edition cards? Do you mean any card that says it supports OSX? or some specific cards made for mac?

Thanks for your help.

heres what i found from OSX86 HCL:

ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO 256MB ATI Used Netkas Newest Natit -->here from Feb. 26 along with editing ATIRadeonX2000.kext with Dev ID 94c3 Yes All Resolutions No... Need Natit Feb 26 plus you MUST use the DVI port w/ a DVI to VGA adapter to get things working with this card!

I would try that method first, and heres a link for a disscusion all about your board, i skimmed over it looks like 10.6 retail has been done on your board, if that is the case you can use PC EFI V10.3 which will inject the needed Kexts at boot up for you card if supported you can find out here: http://netkas.org/?p=224

two cards I would recommend are, 8800GTS 320 got mine off ebay for around 50 to 90 bucks, or 9400GT 1GB for around $50 the one i used there was made by ASUS in fact. Hows that for a helping hand, good luck bro
