For starters let me say that I've been having to many problems getting SL to work on my desktop P5K-E.

 

Anyways .. back to the laptop. I decided to try the new iPortable 3.6 on it but first via USB drive.

My gawd it actually booted .. not like the P5K-E above!.

Next thing I noticed was I had working wifi but my built in AR5007G was turned off so it was a plugin Dlink Dir 643 N that was working. No leds on the card work so that through me off a bit.

 

Next I decided to actually install it to the HD. This worked too... but the audio(ALC861) and video(GMA950) were not working properly.

 

Tried various things to get vid working at correct 1440x900 that didn't pan out till I found out about adding in AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from a Leopard build.

 

The only thing left is Audio and then I would say this is a successful Hackintosh. Research hasn't resulted in any sound at all. Anyone got suggestions even to get some sound working?

So ... I am able to get audio working by using the AppleAzaliaAudio.pkg!

 

But now I've discovered that my Lan connection never did work. Its a Realteck 811b.

I've tried the Realtek1000 but that didn't work .... at best I get a 169

 

Any ideas on this one?

Got this working now too. Switched back to the Hazard release and this time got it installed and was able to boot into it.

I an not sure what combination of things done got the Lan working but I tried Lizard, SnowR1000 and the Realtek Bonjour enabler and AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext

 

There were 8 software updates including an Airport one .... they all installed ok ..... sweet

 

Are there any issues not taken care of .... likely ..... will I have problems in the future .... likely (10.6.3 comes to mind) ..

 

but I am happy with my lappy that I really only use from the bedroom or when traveling.
