TheDirTchamber
Finally, I've managed to get OS X running on my machine (see the signature for hardware details). I've been trying for about a week to make everything work, and now it's 99.9% fully operational. Here's the short story: - used iDeneb 1.6 Lite and installed OS X via VMWare, because I couldn't get to the setup screen by booting from a dvd on my PC no matter what I tried; - after the installation, the secondary display and the network were not working; - I fixed the dual display issue with nvInject and nvcap maker by inserting the video card ID into the Info.plist of nvinject.kext; - I had issues with the audio, as the VoodooHDA kext included on the dvd was buggy and my sound was full of clicks and stuff. Fixed it by downloading a different VoodooHDA.kext from kexts.com; - I installed many apps, including Windows 7 in Parallels, as you can see from the screenshot, and everything is working fine. Tested so far: Photoshop CS4, Office 2008, Firefox, YM, uTorrent, Pathfinder, Parallels Deskop, VMWare Fusion, Crossover 8, Paragon NTFS, Burn, MPlayer and VLC; - As mp3 player, I'm using Cog, works great so far; - I couldn't find a decent video player, as VLC has horrible subtitle font and doesn't open the subtitle automatically for some reason, and MPlayer, while the font is looking better, opens the wrong subtitle (for example, if I have a folder with many video clips and each clip with its own subtitle, MPlayer loads the wrong one everytime, although the subs are named correctly). For this, I'm using BSPlayer in Windows 7, installed in Parallels. I've also tried Quicktime 7, this has the best looking subtitle font and loads them fine, but it's way too big and I can't find a way to make the font smaller; - The only issue I'm still having is with the network. I managed to find a "fix" so far, but I have to do it everytime I boot. I've posted a message in the hardware - LAN section of this forum, but no help so far; - Another small thing, I really don't know why the clock is always changing in Windows, after I've restarted from OSX, or in OSX after I restarted from Windows. It's really weird, but not a big thing. I'll test this for a few days and get back with some impressions. In the mean time, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.
