Elrohir
Hello, I'm new on macos, I've downloaded the patched iso 10.4.3 and installed succesfully. I've been using windows for long time, and don't know anything about macos. I learned quickly the setup format is dmg. So I download the firefox.dmg then open it. Setup is succesful, everything is working perfectly but I don't want to see firefox disk image on my desktop. I want to see it just in the dock but when I click it, it shows also in desktop. So can you help me? Also sorry for my bad english... Thanks all... belgrano
Open the dmg file (by double-clicking it). It will mount on your desktop, next to your HDD. If the new mounted image doesn't open by itself, open it (double-click). Then drag the Firefox.app to the folder Applications on your OS X hard disk. Unmount the dmg file (drag it to Trash Can or right-click on it and "eject image"). Now you can even delete the dmg file. Go to Applications, double-click on Firefox.app. The browser will open and it will appear in the dock also. Right-click on the dock icon and choose "keep in the dock". This is the way to install almost every app in OS X (except the ones that provides an installer). To uninstall an app, drag it from where you put it to Trash. It is better to use Applications folder as the place to install all the apps, but it's not compulsory. JHO
I think what you mean is that after install you still see the white disk drive image on your desktop, if that's what you mean then you just drag the image to the recycling bin. That should get rid of it. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20939-i-dont-want-to-see-them-in-desktop/#findComment-138690 Share on other sites
