Hi everyone

I installed mac os by following the steps from the Installation guide Kalyway DualBoot 10.5.2 from the wiki. However, i'm having some problems in these steps:

19)Once it's done, you'll have to reboot. As it reboots, put the GParted CD in the drive.

20) Wait for it to load (window and all) then right-click on your Windows partition (it has a file system of NTFS). Click Manage Flags.

21) Tick the box for boot. Click OK.

The prob is, when i insert the gparted cd and wait untill the window appears, I can't see any partitions. All I can see is the whole hard disk as an unallocated chunk.

I really could use some help.

Thanks a lot :)

The point of the steps you've outlined is to enable the boot flag (aka the active flag or various other names) on the Windows XP partition. There are other ways to do this. For instance, you could use SysRescueCd or PartedMagic (both Linux emergency CDs). You could then run either Linux fdisk and use its 'a' option or use the parted program and its "set" command to do the job. Most other MBR disk-partitioning tools can do the same thing, in one way or another.

If you use such a tool and you can't see your partitions, then something is badly wrong; you probably accidentally deleted your partitions in a previous step. Although it's theoretically possible to recover from this, it will almost certainly be simpler to start again from scratch, but be very careful with your disk partitioning tools.

If you need more help, you'll need to post more detailed information, particularly on the disk(s) you've got and how they're partitioned. Tools like GParted, parted, fdisk, and Disk Utility can all provide the necessary partitioning information, although in somewhat different formats.
