Roswell_r
I've got a ASUS P6TD-Deluxe board with a i7 920 running 10.6.2 and get approx 5000 for geekbench 32bit. I've compared this with another i7 score and im about 4000 points short. Also GeekBench's report/System info reports bus speed is only 533mhz when it should be 1600mhz as that is what my board is capable of and that is what my ram currently runs at. Im running triple channel ram 3x2gb sticks. I'm asuming it has something to do with that. Anyone have any ideas? What could be stopping me from getting a higher score? Should the bus speed be reporting as 1600mhz or is 533 correct? Any help appreciated. mrgstiffler
Run 64bit instead. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/208975-asus-p6td-deluxe-geekbench-score/#findComment-1395647 Share on other sites
Roswell_r
Run 64bit instead. Thanks, I could do that, but unfortunately that still leaves me in the same place as I was before, questioning why I am getting a much lower benchmark compared to someone with the same board & cpu. So if anyone has any other suggestions please let me know? Perhaps someone could answer whether OSX performance/speed is affected by DSDT/SMBIOS/CHAMELEON? Or will OSX run as fast as my hardware can, because then I can look at why my hardware is running slow. Edit: Ive run the same geekbench test on windows xp and getting a score of approx 8000. So i can only assume OSX is slow? Edit2: Added NullCPUManagement and Disabler to my extensions and this got the benchmark up to 8000 however which of these KEXT should I actually be using because they seem to both do the same thing? kn6600
Use installer from post 461 : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...2978&st=460 it contains everything you need ( Bootloard, DSDT, Extra folder ) Asus P6T deluxe V1 & V2 have the same bios with Asus P6TD Deluxe. My Geekbench 64-bit score is 12060 , but I've overclocked my i7 920 to 3.6GHz. My Geekbench 64-bit score is 12060 , but I've overclocked my i7 920 to 3.6GHz. I think you meant to say the BIOS ACPI Tables are the same (which they are) the actual BIOS itself is different. Just incase anyone reads this and tries to flash their mobo with the incorrect BIOS. As the second Edit of my last post indicates I added a disabler which got me the higher score. This issue is sort of solved, however I still need to know what the difference is between NullCPU and Disabler. Anyone? dgobe
There is a new thread with an installer here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1394042 You can just run the installer pkg from the ISO and it will set you up with a system that doesn't require a disabler. Both those kexts do the same thing. You use one or the other. I have seen some Disabler.kexts floating around that disable more than just the power management though. Unfortunately your package does not work for the P6TD-Deluxe, I tried the DSDT for the i920 (without a disabler) and as before, geekbench score of approx 5000, added the disabler (with your dsdt) and back up to 9000. For those with P6TD-Deluxe, please use my package in a thread started by me. Or simply use a disabler.
