How can I run an OS86x installation on VMWare, from the partition?

Hi,

Like the title says, I have an OS86x partition running on my system. It works well, apart from the occasional hang up.

What I'd like to do is to run that same installation, from VMWare on Windows 7.

I've gotten as far as to see the Chameleon loader GUI, asking for the boot options, etc. When I press "boot", it starts running a few lines and then VMware says: "a virtual cpu has entered the shutdown state" and halts.

I've done a bit of research, but can't find a solution for this problem, especially considering I'm running from the partition, not a fresh install.

However, if I try to do a clean install, as soon as it runs the DVD, it throws the same error.

Any ideas? I have an Intel Quad Core processor and am allocating 1 core (but tried all other configs).

Thanks in advance,

Andre

If you look at some of my posts above, I am trying to do a similar thing. I get into the GUI but it does not appear to see my disk as I get in interminable loop "examining" disks.

What set of instructions are you following? I am following "VMware OS X Guest Package" and downloaded the required batch files.

I had more errors until I realized VT-x was not enabled in my BIOS. Did you check that?
