JtoP Posted July 1, 2006 Share Posted July 1, 2006 I use Compaq V2000 series for my laptop. It has Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 and JBL Pro speakers. When I listen music in Windows, the sound is very clear and impressive. However, when I use the laptop in OSX86, the sound is rather dull and not clear. Is it because I did not specify vendor id or because of not adequate driver? (I installed with Jas 10.4.6) Has anyone experienced like this? Like sound in Windows better than OSX? Mohd, I'm sorry those kexts I sent you didn't work... try removing the IOPCCardFamily.kext out of the Extensions folder and somewhere else temporarily... for some reason that opened the floodgates for me. Yeah, i tried that, it didnt work. It was not so much abt other drivers, i notice they were maybe linking problem or kext version mismatch. To be honest, i am about to give up installing this on my laptop. I am waiting for my paycheck to buy a P4 and new mobo to get it working on my pc (it's a shame that i am a die hard AMD fan.. ) and i have ati radeon 9600XT, i read somewhere saying that this card is supported out of the box. However there will be mouse tearing, any idea what that is and how to fix it?? would you send me the kext too?
