Incorrect clock speed reported for T7300 Core 2 Duo

Hey OSX'ers

 

Got a bit of a head scratcher..I've got iatkosv7 with latest Chameleon all setup and running well except this particular issue with the cpu clock speed.

 

sysctl hw gives me the following

Any clues as to why hw.cpufrequency_max is 1813870300 would be appreciated

What should it be? Maybe you don't want AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement, try removing that kext.

 

I noticed the following. If I go into safe mode, and VoodooPower is not running, then systcl reports the right speed. If I load the VoodooPower kext, wrong speed appears in sysctl.. The obvious problem here is that without voodoo power my cpu speed gets pegged to 2GHz...

If you're using Chameleon RC2, set the correct clocks in /Extra/smbios.plist. Refer to the Chameleon documentation and FAQ on the VoodooProjects website. Also search here to see some smbios.plist examples.

I am using RC4 actually..would this be read off of /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist?

This is what I have at the moment

No. and L/P/S/com.apple.Boot.plist should be left alone.

 

When adding stuff to com.apple.Boot.plist, you should use the one in /Extra.

 

clock frequencies and all the other Mac model spoofing SMBIOS stuff goes in /Extra/smbios.plist.

 

Just read the Chameleon docs and FAQ at the VoodooProjects forum.
