Martijn-k
I downloaded the 10.5.8 combo update from apple website, I installed it, but I won't come back to the desktop! I can only go in safe mode (-s), when I give to command "exit" the system logouts, I get a flash of a blue screen, but then error codes, flash of a blue screen, error codes. etc. I think it's my ati 4850, could I fix it? Or must I reinstall my system. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207596-problem-p5q-pro-update-to-1058/ Share on other sites
Martijn-k
I reinstalled iPC 10.5.6, everything works, graphics, internet, resolution, QE/CE. So I think no update to 10.5.8? If 10.5.8 can't can I update to 10.5.7? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207596-problem-p5q-pro-update-to-1058/#findComment-1386962 Share on other sites

Lord_Jeremy
Before you upgrade there are a couple things to do. First of all backup your kernel and your Extensions directory. Second of all you need to install disabler kexts to prevent new Apple kexts from breaking the system. For more info check out this and this. Good luck!
