icanic
Can someone help me please. Is there any way I don't need to reinstall OSX? I installed OSX, worked fine, didn't install any drivers yet and then I did update to 10.6.2, but after update I have infinite reboot. Is there any way I can fix that without reinstallation. MB: Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L all works (except audio) GPU: Nvidia 7600GS Sound on board: ALC883 Works with DSDT patch Thank you! icanic
I have solved the problem, my cpu is not supported (Celeron 430) so I installed 10.6.2 update and replaced 10.6.2 kernel with 10.6.1 kernel and everything works now :-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207090-snow-leopard-loop-reboot-on-ga-g31m-es2l-after-1062-update/#findComment-1387055 Share on other sites

Hi icanic, I see you have a board similar to mine. I got my hack working except for audio. I know that i have a different chipset (ALC888b vs. your ALC883), but can you explain how you found and installed the patch? I need a patch for my sound and so far have not gotten a response in my thread. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=208312 thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207090-snow-leopard-loop-reboot-on-ga-g31m-es2l-after-1062-update/#findComment-1392432 Share on other sites

mahmood
1- get the graphic drivers from 10.6.0 and replace them in 10.6.2 (System/Library/Extensions) most of the time this does the trick and also u can use EFI graphic strings with the drivers from 10.6.0 this will enable all the graphic benefits and also there will be no blue screen, black screen or loop logo. 2- get sleepenabler.kext for 10.6.2 and put it in EXTRA folder and then use kext utility to solve the persmission solutions and after that 3- restart I have nvidia graphic drivers from 10.6.0 if u want that i can upload them and send u the link to download.
