hmarkvitz
Ok were do I start. I need some serious help. A couple of months ago I decided I would help my uncle change all his PC computers in his small office , with hackintoshes so he could forget about viruses and all that {censored}. I started by building his Mac. I got a Gigabyte EP35-DS3P, 4gb Ram, Core 2 Duo E8400, a 8600gt and the other usual stuff to build the mac. I build a fully functional hack with Leopard 10.5.7. and than updated to 10.5.8. using iatkos v7. I used Gigabyte's control panel to install the kext and fixes that i needed. Then I change another computer a month ago with a G41M-ES2L and a Core 2 Duo E7500, 2gb of ram and the other usual. I made another fully functional mac with Iatkos V7 except the sleep option that doesn't work.(don't know why), I started having some network problems becuase they couldn't see each other, Than I built a third Mac with a G41M-ES2L but this time I used a Pentium D 2.66 and 2gb I found from another PC they had there. I had to install the Vodoo 9.5.5 kernel because the Vanilla didn't work on the dual core. None of the hackintosh can share files but all three of them can access the Windows XP server my uncle has using remote connection for mac. I decided then to buy three native supported NIC card and I bought an Encore EG1320 I believe it is or something like that that has a Realtek 8169SC chipset and runs natively, this didn't fix the problem of the computers not sharing files and I am going nuts. What I don't understand is why my macs don't work on the network if I have the same NIC card and it accesses the windows XP machine instantly. I need some serious help because I am going nuts. I even allowed the printer and personal file sharing on mac on each one and change the switch trying 3 different switches and nothing changes. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Seems odd and I can't understand why it wouldn't work.... So, you opened Sys Preferences/Sharing and you have enabled file sharing. Have you then added all the folders you want to share? Have you made sure you have enabled all the users that you want to be able to access the files (try "Everyone" with "Read/Write" to start with)? With that enabled in all your Macs, as long as you are actually all on the same network, the left hand pane of the Finder window must show all your Macs. If it doesn't then it would seem that they are not actually all on the network. Anyway, good luck! Now it works perfectly for all that have the Vanilla Kernel... both core 2 duo's work fine. The ones with the Voodoo kernel using the Pentium D were upgraded using a different method but when I use the lifehacker.com method, it didn't work so I installed iAtkos v7 again with all the preferences except the main system and the post installations. Now my Core 2 Duo's can access my Pentium D's but my Pentium D's can't access my Core 2 Duo... I am guessing that its because it still has installed the voodoo 9.5 kernel that is based on the vanilla kernel from 10.5.7...any recommendations on what to do...Which voodoo kernel is made out of 10.5.8 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207075-help-on-hackintosh-network-hackintoshes-do-not-connect/#findComment-1390912 Share on other sites
