minter66
I am sorry, I looked, but I cannot find a clear cut way of getting a custom DSDT.aml into my installation...in fact I am terrible at this, I apologize in advance. I started a thread this morning which can be found here with my system specs: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=206984 Basically the important bit is I am using an MSI G31TM-P21 and I cannot for the life of me get it to boot into OSX after several good installations (MD5 checked out fine, so its not the source) Steven1313 (on this forum) created the following thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;mode=threaded And in his sig, wadda ya know he has the same motherboard as me! I contacted him and he was very gracious and gave me his custom DSDT.aml...but I have no idea what to do with this. I would very much like to use my Kalyway 1.5.2 or my iATKOS V7 install, but how do I get the DSDT on there so the OS doesn't flag my hardware as not compatible? I cannot boot into OSX and I do not have XP or any other OS on the drive, this was going to be strictly a single OS machine. Please, any help would be appreciated. Also, if anyone can recommend what options I should use on my install, that would help. I have found a guide for a G33 that I will use, I just don't know if loading audio/video/networking kexts is causing my startup freeze or not. bayani69
I have the same Mobo and trying to install SL. I've also tried a few methods and still no luck. Have you been able to install the osx yet?? I've asked Steven1313 but no reply... thanks, Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207037-how-do-you-swap-out-dsdts/#findComment-1395440 Share on other sites

I have found a guide for a G33 that I will use, I just don't know if loading audio/video/networking kexts is causing my startup freeze or not. I'm fairly new to all this but love my new Mac! I have the same MOBO and got it working on the first install using just the old google for "how to install snow leopard on a pc" The one at ihack is what I used (10A432). The files included and the run through was perfect from my original Leopard install. My SL does work in 64bit mode however I cannot seem to find the right kexts to get my sound and ethernet working in x64 so I use -x32 boot flag. The other annoying issue that I've had with this MOBO since I bought it is the inability to Enable Legacy USB so I can actually use the bootloader options. I've been clicking enter on a PS2 keyboard to get past the chameleon and into Snow and have a feeling if i got the correct DSDT I might be able to enable that support. Would you mind sharing your DSDT.aml file? I can't seem to find one and would love to try that. demoniac
Make the bootloader load your DSDT. That way the OS will use the one loaded by the bootloader, (chameleon?) not by BIOS.
