ZazzaZ
Hi guys, I'm just coming from a perfect installation of Hackintosh on P5KPL-AM EPU. Here is the complete hardware list: P5KPL-AM EPU XFX Geforce 9600 GT Intel Core Duo 7500 (2,93 Mhz) Western Digital SATA 500 Gb (465 GB) LG DVD burner and reader. Install method: iDeneb 1.4 (Leopard 10.5.6) Make sure you have a USB memory o any other support in which you save the following kext AttansicL1eEthernet.kext available here Link or in this post to properly install the onboard LAN after Leopard installation. In the iDeneb installation check the following in "Personalize". - ICHX Fix (for motherboard) - CPUS=1 Fix (for first boot) - AppleAzaliaAudio.Kext (for audio) - All Nvidia Drivers (to boot the system) - OpenHalt Fix - Install optional application such as OSX86Tools No way to make the installation boot with the onboard GFX, it will go on eternal waiting! Follow the installation, it should boot to intro. Open OSX86Tools and choose Install Kext and then load the AttansicL1eEthernet.kext. It should recognize the LAN and you can configure it. As you can see in the System Profiler you have no Graphic Card and Core Image and Quartz Enable are in SoftwareMode and Disabled. To make the Geforce 9600 GT fully functional you've to do the following: Install AquaMacs drivers and reboot. I think that all the drivers you need are the NV DAL 5 kext, but I'm not too sure of it. Open OSX86Tools and insert the custom gfx string (write nVidia GeForce 9600 GT, then 512 Mb, then DVI/DVI), than Import to Boot and the apply, so reboot again. Finally remove the injectors. You can perform this operation with a Terminal sudo rm -f /System/Library/Extension/NVInject* Reboot! That's all! In SystemProfiler see if CoreImage and Quartz Enabler are on positively. I noticed differences in smooth magnification of dock, so have an eye on it during these operations if you prefer. You can also update to Leopard 10.5.8 from Software Update if you wish. Restart and Shutdown are OK, sleep isn't tested. If you modify the bootflag to cpu=2 boot is ok but there are problems in shutdown. Restart works fine. So two cores are recognized but the system won't shutdown unless you push the power button. Hope this helps! ZazzaZ
You're welcome! Video card is the most important thing and also Drivers for LAN, since you may need to check from Internet stuff regarding the system you're running. I also was able to run an Airport wireless card, a D-Link one. In case you want to install one of them, remember that the only Leopard working slot if the one close to the video card. Did you disabled the integrated video card? Just to remove it from the bootsequence device list... It looks like you might have video card problems.Did you disabled the integrated video card? DappleBook
Is there an ideneb update already for 10.6? Beats me but it's pretty painless to back up your files/programs then do a clean install with Hazards Snow Leopard then apple's combo update 10.6.4 and then the Legacy Kernel 10.6.4 patch. Simplest installation I've done to date and I've done quite a few Hackintoshs thus far. Like I said, see the wiki entry for these boards. Piece of cake installation for SL. Love mine.
