I've installed on my dell inspiron 9300 the mac os x86, with no difficult, I've also created the dual boot with my previous installed win xp pro. It's seems to be with no problems, still first attempt to start mac os x86, infact, the system freez on grey screen , the one wiht the apple, after few minuts on the screen appear a strange icon, that's all. I tried to start system with -s option, result is this message: "still waiting root device"... anyone can help me!!! Inspiron9300nv6800 Posted August 13, 2006 Share Posted August 13, 2006 I have the same problem. I have a nvidia 6800 it's a inspiron 9300 intel pentium M740 and it's a kernel panic. I used the file MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL_AMD_SSE3_SSE2).iso. Rammjet Posted August 13, 2006 Share Posted August 13, 2006 During the installation, right before clicking on the Install button, you should have clicked on the Customize button and selected packages that pertain to your computer. To the left of the major items are little arrows you must click to reveal the individual packages inside. Select only AMD or Intel packages, not both. Select SSE2 or SSE3, not both, based on what your processor is capable of. Inspiron9300nv6800 Posted August 16, 2006 Share Posted August 16, 2006 Hello I succeed to install MAC OS X . I used the Myz iso. But I am afraid that the iso downloaded by bittorrent has a security problem because the md5 computed by md5sum on linux is not the same as in the .torrent file.
