demerdland
Hi, Sorry for being the noob here (just started this whole hackintosh thing 3 days ago, plus I'm a machead... plz bear with me !) I built a rig using GA-P55-UD6 / Corei7 860 / 9800GT in a fractaldesign define R2 case. sweet. Installed as per tonyMacX86 10.6.2. No problem. Added tony's UD6 dsdt, and... QE/CI goodies enabled, but... no sound (no firewire, and no frontpanel Esata either) Has this (the kexts you uploaded to solve UDF4 problems) any chance of working, and if so, How do I go about choosing which kexts from your upload I should use and...ahem... how do I actually "use" them ? (just guessing : drag them to kexthelper then use kextutil to change permissions then fix permissions with diskutil ?) thanks in advance guys !-) Btw : first post !-) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206547-anyone-got-sound-on-p55m-ud4/#findComment-1382677 Share on other sites
jwalkermed
you need Legacy kext with layoutid 885try this one: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=63104 I also have not been able to get the sound working despite installing multiple kext and all. I have a P55-UD4P so I assume I the above method will work for me? I have to admit, I'm a bit of a newb, but not an idiot. My first time to ever use mac in my life so I don't know if I'm even doing this correctly. Which of the kext in the above attachment do I need to install? There are 5 or so of them. And do I install them my dropping them in my extra/extensions folder, rebuilding the cache w/ kext utility then resetting permissions on the drive, or do I just install the file using kext helper b7? I'd appreciate any help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206547-anyone-got-sound-on-p55m-ud4/#findComment-1382770 Share on other sites
polishz3
Thanks for the help Steps for me were Tonymacx's p55 install:http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/install-os-x-snow-leopard-directly-from.html with the beta-3 iso at the bottom Use the DSDT.aml from the data base instead off the CD: (appleHDA.kext off the cd though)http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/dsdt-database-for-p55-motherboards.html then use the above legacyHDA(4outs2ins HDA) instead of the legacy888 on the CD(extra\extensions folder) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206547-anyone-got-sound-on-p55m-ud4/#findComment-1384256 Share on other sites

This worked on my p55-UD4 board, but one question. The audio I have going into the line in port is not coming out the output? I can see that audio is going in if you look at the level meter in sound preferences. Do you guys have the same issue?
