Hi I have installed Mac Os X 10.4.1 back in days...when it was this huge "BOOM!!!"...

After few month...formated was toooo unstable...

Right now I got another computer and it osx86 seem to be alot stable...anyways....

I installed using 10.4.6 JaS Patched DVD (VmWare to Native install)...

Everything seems alright except my new Samsung SyncMaster 204B, it's native(best) resolution is 1600x1200

(which is basicly reason I chose it), it's not widescreen type :) . I tried setting it's res in com.apple.boot.plist(i think that's the exact name....) but instead of 1600x1200 it set it to 1280x1024???

So I tried Omni's drivers build008 since it didnt do thing tried 006 and it booted but all the res choices are up to 1024x768  ......

Another problem is when I ran XBench it showed me

My Xbench

It's 2.8 P4 533mhzFSB

ECS P4P800(hope i'm right)

1GB Kingston PC400 DDR

Seagate 200GB 7200rpm

Samsung SyncMaster 204B

AOpen CD Burner...

/*My Current Setup*/

My Previous XBench

It's 3Ghz 800mhzFSB HT

Intel 865PE

512mb Kingston PC400 RAM

Samsung 80GB 7200rpm (little worse btw)

Viewsonic A90f

AOpen CD Burner(same)

/*My Last Setup*/

I really want to switch to OSX for life from Linux and Window$

(My next computer is gonna be MacBook Pro most likly).

If you need something else tell me!

Best Respect,

./SerJ.:D

What video card do you have? Since you tried Callisto, I suppose it's ATI. But is it? What type? Do you have QE and CI enabled on it? If your monitor is not correctly identified by Callisto, you can manually add your EDID value. Maybe that way you'll get more resolutions to chose from (and hopefully your native one too).

Also, from your Xbench score I see you have a very low value on hard disk test. What chipset do you have? Is your HDD ATA or SATA?

My video is VisionTek Xtasy 9600PRO 256MB DDR(It's just like ATI 9600PRO 256MB PRO)

Yes all the accelarations are enabled right out of box it used Radeon9700.kext which seem to work just fine...

I did set the EDID and it's id in Info(s).plist

I think...that's just a clue that my new monitor's EDID ain't really working for it self...I don't know much in that area (just a idea)...

My HD is ATA...by chipset do you mean mother board one? than it's VIA

I latly figured some stuff out from reading all this info carefully.....

I will include my whole system info(from System Profiler)

in attachment.

I got solutions (I think)!

The ATA speed is because I deleted VIAATA kext...since it was showing errors I should have puted device id and it would work...

The resolution is because I installed it on hd from within vmware I see other people got same problems as me.. =/

So I will pull out dvd burner from other pc burn dvd and run it nativly without all those emulations... than it should work =)

If it will I will report back(if i dont forget :gun: )

ThX,

./SerJ.:D

Looking through you System Profiler report, I see there are a lot of kexts dependencies errors including ATIRadeon9700, Callisto. That could explain why your QE and CI are not enabled, also why Callisto does not provide more resolutios. (BTW, are your USB ports working?)

Maybe you should try to replace the kexts with their 10.4.5 counterparts.

Of course the thing you should do first is to install OS X directly, not through VMware.
