Alright, im going to try and make it simple.

I installed the geforce 9400gt card trying to make it work with hackintosh.

When i go into boot off cd to install, it freezes and doesnt go anywhere except restart.

When i remove the card and use onboard vga, i can install just fine.

As soon as i put the card back in and try to boot to the installed osx,it freezes and does the same thing as before,

as soon as i remove it, i can boot back in just fine

INSTALL DISTRO:IPC 10.5.6

MOBO: GA-M51GM-S2G (rev. 1.0) http://www.gigabyte.us/Support/Motherboard...?ProductID=2281

CPU: AMD 3800+x2

GFX: PNY nvidia GEFORCE 9400GT 1024mb

I have tried using what ive read on the boards, and for some reason this stupid thing wont start.

The boot screen where darwin is displays something like VESA 3.0 14mb (Nvidia)

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Please do not hijack my thread. If someone has an answer, we can all benefit from it <_<

He probably means NVEnabler (find it at the Project OSX forums) or Chameleon 2.0's built-in GraphicsEnabler (set to y in /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist).

my next question is. How do i get the spidf to work? Im using my 37 inch LG tv as a monitor and cannot seem to get sound to come out over hdmi.

Not possible, the OS X nvidia drivers don't have sound support. Use the SPDIF output on your sound card.

Matt: Did you have to make any mods to the NVEnabler Info.plist? Did you add your device id to the NVDAResman and NVDANV50Hal kext plists? Anything else required? I've done all of this for a PNY Verto 512MB 9400gt and still can't get it to be recognized properly. NVEnabler log says it's a 9400gt with 512 MB, but in system profiler it still claims:

VRAM (Total): 32 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x042c

Revision ID: 0x00a1

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1280 x 800

I'm stuck at 1280x800 and have no acceleration. This is under 10.6.6.
